Week 52 – Day 4

It was such a super busy day, it was hard to pick up the camera – even for Gramma!

The day started with Bill going in to the office so I had the babies by myself. They were good boys but they just kept me hopping! I was a sweaty mess but they had a nice time.

They got all scrubbed up and clean for company to come!

Meanwhile, Caleb, Aunt Erin and Gramma were on the plane!

Caleb was a good boy during the flight, and waited until they landed to take his nap!

Trevor’s face when he saw Caleb walking around was just priceless. It was a lot like purple monster face. He was a little nervous about the noise and extra people but he definitely remembered Gramma. He doesn’t know why this other kid is hugging his Gramma too!

Trevor got a second bath because he got to hop in with Caleb in Brendan’s little tub for a quick wash. They will have a lot more fun in the big boy bath tub tomorrow.

It is so funny to have the boys all together. Caleb and Trevor are almost the exact same height but Caleb looks so much older and filled out. Trevor looked a lot more like a baby! Trevor was pretty impressed with Caleb’s walking and was motivated to make more effort himself. Caleb must have walked about a quarter mile doing laps around my house and patio!

Trevor has been attached to Gramma like a little shadow. He has been really interested in everything she is doing, he wants to watch and be involved and he wants her to pick him up and carry him around.
Brendan was in an awesome mood. He just was a spazz playing with Gramma and talking to Aunt Erin. He just watched all of the other boys’ antics with amazement.

All of the babies are asleep now, it is going to be a fun week. We will all need a vacation from vacation when we are all done!

Week 52 – Day 3

Brendan had a much better day today, he is getting back around to feeling more “normal” again while his meds are parked at a steady dose. It was good to see him feeling more like playing, we want him to be able to have fun with the other boys TOMORROW!
Gramma, Aunt Erin, and Caleb land around 12:30. Right after Trevor lunch!

Packages are starting to show up at the house. The boys are getting little samples of birthday fun every day. Today it was this spiffy ball popping dinosaur. The boys were waiting to see what it did.

I think this is going to be more of a mommy-exerciser. These things go everywhere.

Trevor immediately figured out how it worked and stopped the popping

I picked up some pumpkins this year, I hope we have a chance to carve them. I want to see the boys faces when they touch pumpkin guts!

Trevor is getting in to the spirit of the season. He wouldn’t sit still, he kept flapping his arms because he is not used to wearing anything with long sleeves!

Week 52 – Day 2

I didn’t take a whole lot of pictures today, it was busy. The only photo I got of Trevor was trying on his monkey pack. It was actually pretty funny because it touches the back of his head and he tried to get away from it, but it was attached to his back! It will take a little getting used to.

Brendan had a better day today. He is stabilizing a bit so hopefully by Friday he will feel better again for company. Dealing with his poor digestive system has been a handful, I won’t go in to detail. Nobody wants to talk about projectile vomiting bright yellow bile. He still needs almost constant trach tube suctioning which is hard on him. But today, he managed to do his full day of sprinting off vent.

I spotted another problem that would be giving Brendan trouble this week. Tooth number 6 cut through the gums on the lower left today. It is just through enough that you can catch a fingernail on it. There was no way that he was going to show the blog readers his new tooth.

He will brush them though, the new tooth doesn’t really show in this pic, it is too blurry

I would say that puts Brendan in the lead, 6 to 5 on teeth. But Trevor is cutting his second top center tooth, it is right there under a very thin layer of gum.

Poor Brendan just has had such bad luck this week. On top of everything else, he developed these weird spots all over his body.
I am just keeping an eye on them for now, I hope they are not contagious! I took a picture, don’t look if you are squeamish about these things.
Strange spots picture

The boys have received several packages now, the door bell has been busy. Medical supplies got delivered today too.
What kid doesn’t like a good cardboard box and packing material?

The living room is a total mess, time to go clean it up. I did everything I could to baby-proof the area so Trevor could roam freely while I suctioned Brendan over and over. He had a good time and I thought everything was protected from him and him from it.
But I look away for less than a minute and Trevor has the last bit of milk in his bottle and he is turning it upside down, milking the nipple with his fingers like a professional farmer with a cow. Formula all over the floor, he is splashing in it and spreading it around artistically.
Clean up wasn’t bad, but Trevor stinks like formula no matter how many baby wipes you use. He needs another bath!
