Year 2 – Week 18 – Day 5

I don’t remember most of what I intended to write about today, I know there were several things. Oh well! I should make notes!

For a Monday, it was pretty smooth. Brendan only took a 25 minute nap so any kind of break time for me was lost. Trevor slept 2.5hrs! We owe a huge huge huge thanks to our friend Mike who spent the majority of the afternoon on our roof and the rest of it chasing down parts for our A/C unit. It has been heating and cooling OK, but it has been doing these funky cycles and making odd sounds. Thanks, Mike!

Trevor had a good morning that started with fresh strawberries. He LOVES his berries!

I don’t know if he is singing in to the brush like a microphone or if he is just going to eat it.

Brendan had another great day. I thought this toy was heavy, but he thinks he will just relocate it.

“It wasn’t me”

“Just turn around, it won’t tip over again”

Brendan is getting stronger and stronger. He really loves to have us work with him on his standing, he is very excited when we all make a big deal about it. He is less thrilled to work on his crawling, but he is getting better bit by bit.

And another day is behind us. I can’t believe February is almost gone!

Year 2 – Week 18 – Day 4

I didn’t use the camera much today. Trevor and I did all our grocery shopping this morning and got home just in time for lunch. While he ate, I scoured the inside of the fridge (yuck!!) and then put groceries away.
Bill mowed the lawns and had to go pick up a truck full of stuff to go to the dump. It was go go go go!
While we were in the grocery store, an older Asian woman (non english speaking) suddenly walks up to me waving something in my face and asking something that sounded urgent. She startled me and when I was able to focus on what she was holding, I saw a carton of Activia Prune Yogurt. (I didn’t know there was such a thing!) She kept repeating the same thing but I simply could not understand, I just nodded and shrugged and walked on. As I got further away, it finally clicked that she was asking me if it was blueberry. Someone in her household is going to be both disappointed and very regular.

Talk about service, someone got an easy chair snack tray this afternoon.

Brendan was in a great mood today. He was so silly and eager to play. (And lounge)

I knew I was short pictures, so I tried to capture some Trevor

But he just makes his escape through the “Mommy Tunnel”

Year 2 – Week 18 – Day 3

It was a pretty good Saturday. Bill was home most of the time and it is nice to have some time together as a family. We got a few odd projects done and had lots of play time.

Trevor learned that it is fun to hang over the arm of the chair. He exits the chair this way too. (He also learned that if you lean over the back, the chair tips over)

Sometimes you need to stop and catch your breath

Brendan had to have a cup too so he could copy his brother

I love this Brendan smile.

They were kind of bored watching ‘Signing Time’

Here’s a little Trevor-chin just for Gramma

Trevor and I went to the post office again today so that he could mail a little surprise package. We got to see them lock up the service counter with the big garage door at closing time. We used the self-service machine to be sure there was no error!

He got to put the package in the big bin. The lady behind us said I should just put Trevor in the bin too. I think she was impatient because I was taking a picture.

So yesterday while I was at Joann’s buying some yarn, I made the mistake of looking in the fabric remnant bin and I found bright orange fleece. I knew just what I had to do with it. $2.50 for fleece, $1 in felt, babies taking a nap so I could sew and tadaaa! The Lorax!

Trevor was already in crabby evening mode so we will show it to him tomorrow. But when I gave it to Brendan, he didn’t like it! He laughs and smiles at it when it is across the room. Just don’t get close!!
