Year 3 – Week 12 – Day 4

Monday is all about surviving the day, and that is what we did today. Brendan had a terrible night. He drank some milk before bedtime and it must have upset his tummy. He was awake a lot and crying. He needed to be held in order to sleep and he still would wake up and cry.
This morning, he seemed to get over it pretty quickly. He was in a pretty good mood today.
When Bill was done with work, I took Trevor to burn off some craziness. We went to a new park with a 3/4 mile trail around a lake and did a whole loop. He climbed stairs, did some hill sprints, and saw lots of ducks.

312t22

He especially like this big white duck
312t23

He loves rocks
312t24

Cooking Trevor tries to cut peppers with his pretend knife
312t25

He left the cutting to me, but he did the washing
312t26

I got Brendan a new bag of his favorite pretzels
312b07

He wanted to help cook too, so he made pasta
312b08

312b09

Since Brendan finished dinner, Trevor had to go do laundry
312t27

I didn’t get to work on any projects today, we will try to get more done tomorrow!

Year 3 – Week 12 – Day 3

I didn’t get a thing done in the playroom today, I guess it can wait another day. 🙂

Bill did yardwork and I had a special project for the boys to do. It was a success! I dumped out a bunch of PVC parts from the hardware store, and they were very excited to stack them and piece them together.

312bt04

We had a plan, Brendan was helping!

Trevor really liked putting the things together. He wanted to help me glue them, but that was not going to happen!
312t13

We spent some time outside while the weather was nice. Brendan has great attention to detail while sweeping!
312b05

Trevor is getting to be very good at cooking. He helps with everything each night for dinner, he just does not do raw meat or get near hot things. All of the mixing, pouring, measuring, opening cans, etc … that is his job! Here he is pushing crescent roll dough in to the muffin pan.
312t14

He made taco cups! They were so good, he ate a whole one all by himself
31201

Here is the rough draft of our project – it is a four stage car wash! Soap, wiping rags, soon-to-be rotary scrubbers, and then the rinse! 🙂 We got it as done as possible for tonight, I will have to finish it tomorrow.
31202

Both boys were excited, but Trevor LOVED it
312t15

Airplanes can go through the wash too
312t16

When it is totally done, I will have to take a video to show the “action”
312t17

I sized it to fit Trevor’s big blue garbage truck, but I guess in doing so I sized it to fit Trevor!
312t18

“One more time!”
312t19

Even Brendan thought he would give it a try!
312b06

I had to step out of Trevor’s room while we were getting ready for bed. I came back to this! He used to get in his bed while he waited for me to come back. He has yet to figure out the best way to get in to his new bed!
312t20

With no nurse tomorrow for the day, I am hoping the car wash will keep the boys entertained. We will be fixing the soap level and finishing the scrubbers!

Year 3 – Week 12 – Day 2

I barely remember what we did today, we worked hard and it all blended in to the days before. I finished all the painting and finally cleaned and put everything away.
The only thing left is this dumb wall. Bill scraped off a bunch of old, dry, nasty cork and I have to recover it. Trevor was helping.
312t11

He is always good at the cleanup part
312t12

Brendan sat in his chair in the playroom and watched me working while playing. Must be nice!
312b01

After dinner, I took Brendan for a bike ride. He doesn’t look excited in the picture, but it is the look of impatience because I am taking too long.
312b02

As soon as we got back, Bill took Trevor out for his ride to end the day. Trevor slept beautifully in his big boy bed all night. He took a decent nap, and he is in bed tonight with no fuss. He likes it!
