We had heard about an event today being hosted by a preschool in the parking lot of a church. It was called “Transportation Day”. They’ve held this event annually for the last 14yrs, which should have been a clue to its success and popularity. I was not prepared for the 2 mile stretch of road with cars parked tight on both sides before the event even opened! It was PACKED.
It was a totally free event, with raffle ticket sales, food vendors, bouncy houses, and other paid elective items. But the main draw was the 40+ vehicles of all kinds that kids could explore freely.
The boys were packed for the walk from the car

Trevor is climbing up in to a big white garbage truck. (It was a VERY clean garbage truck too)

As I type this, Trevor is sitting next to me saying that he needs to go back to the truck park to drive the garbage truck again.

Brendan loved it too, they both were mad when we had to move to let other kids have a turn.

The filling of the balloon was loud and made the boys a little nervous, but it was cool to see up close

Brendan is wondering where the boxes are. Trevor is telling me “no packages! delivery truck empty!”

Trevor was nice to the officer and said “hi” and gave a high five. Brendan wanted no part of it.

So only Trevor got to ride the police motorcycle

The boys got to climb in to a lift basket, Trevor immediately spotted the bucket of candy and picked out a lollipop

I had no idea this event would be so cool. There was even a mini air-show

Bill had to climb up in the grader to get the boys down, they wanted to stay and play

This place had a bake sale, live performers of music and kids’ dance troops. Apart from the crowds, it was a really cool morning. It was an awesome opportunity for truck loving kids. I think they had a good time!
