Year 3 – Week 39 – Day 5

Brendan went to the grocery store this morning. I am so happy that he is enjoying getting out and about. It is funny that after all this time, I am finally hearing people saying, “Oh, are they twins?” One woman asked me which aisle was it that had such cute boys for sale. It was a normal day. Then…

5:45PM – eating dinner. Taco Tuesday! Yum

6:00PM – Bill has a work call, will be busy for a few hours.

6:02PM – Boys still in high chairs, I fill the sink and start washing dishes.

6:03PM – “Brendan, what is that on your face?….Oh….no”

6:04PM – Rush Brendan to the kitchen at arms length, realize the sink is full of dishes, stuff him in the small side, try to keep him from touching anything.

6:10PM – Mostly clean Brendan plays in bubble bath and tries to take dishes full of water and empty them over side.

6:12PM – Trevor finishes eating and says, “Trevor wants a sink bath too!!”

6:13PM – Both boys are in the sink, having an all out war over the sprayer when I realize there isn’t a towel in reach. I had to grab a dish towel from the side cabinet with my toes to get them out!

I may not have brought a towel, but what do you know, there is my camera on the counter! Glad I didn’t miss this!

The next time Brendan sees Gramma, he is going to be ready to drink his OWN frozen coke! He was taking sips of Coca-Cola today and loving it, and this evening he was showing total mastery of drinking water through a straw. Go Brendan!

Some cute Trevorisms today:

Trevor is playing with a car transporter and Brendan is edging in on it. Trevor looks at Brendan and says, “No! Brendan! Don’t touch this! It is hot. It will burn you. Do you want an owie?”

Later, Trevor is unloading the transporter and puts down the ramp in the back. He gets up and says, “I have an idea!” and he races off to the playroom. He comes back with a little plastic traffic cone and uses it to carefully support the bottom of the ramp – just like he sees Bill do with the ramp with support cones on the trailer. I was seriously impressed!

I love the way kids’ brains work, especially at this age. The cuteness is almost enough to balance the CRAZY!

Year 3 – Week 39 – Day 4

The boys were in rare form today. They kicked my butt at “Undo”, whirling through the house like little tornados leaving a wake of debris.

We had to bring in the couch from the trailer in order to have more room inside for the trip. We will probably leave it here a little while. The boys liked their elevated movie chairs. It is a hide-a-bed so I will try to sleep on it tonight (no night nurse, my turn with B)

We did some playroom organization and pulled out more toys to sell/donate. We made room for this little kitchen set and we brought in the workbench from outside. 339t14

The little cash register in front of Trevor was the center of an all-out war between the boys. They both wanted it BADLY. After nap time (Trevor took a nap!), he asked “Where is my sergas pinner stir?”
I was confused! I said, “You mean your cash register?”
“Yes, cattle weddinster”
“Cash register”
“Crash rennister”
“It is in the playroom.”

I think Trevor just had a big growth spurt. In a blink, his shoes didn’t fit anymore. I had to buy him size 7’s! He is noticeably taller than Brendan again, for a while I thought Brendan would catch up!

3…2…1… blast off!

Year 3 – Week 39 – Day 3

The post last night was so big, it makes up for this one. We had a good drive home today. No barfing in the car in either direction! Yay! Brendan most definitely felt the effects of the elevation – 6780ft makes a difference! He was one tired baby today and took a solid nap. (of course, not Trevor!)

I don’t have pictures, it was just unpacking day. Eins was very happy to be home too. He didn’t really enjoy his weekend stay at a friend’s house.

We are super tired, I promise a better post tomorrow.
