Year 3 – Week 38 – Day 6

Today was frustrating and exhausting. I am pretty much done with random nurses doing cold-start fill-ins. I guess it is all good prep for when our nursing hours get cut soon because I would rather have been alone.

I am trying to adapt to the napless Trevor routine. Not having the mental break in the middle of the day is rough too.

On a positive note, Bill and I took the boys to the burger place again for dinner. They were well behaved. Brendan drank some Sprite and licked on peanut butter milkshake, french fries, and burger buns.

The only pictures I took today are of Trevor’s megablocks masterpiece. I built the big solid blue part and the little side garage and he did the rest. He called it “The Fire Station” and apparently fire trucks climb it like King Kong to spray fires from the top.

Year 3 – Week 38 – Day 5

There was no nurse today, so I was desperate for something to help entertain us all through the morning. On the way back from the mine the other day, Trevor kept insisting that we were going to IKEA. I don’t know if he saw a billboard or what, but he just knew we were on the way. He said..”Almost theeeerre!” So today we went.

The best part about IKEA is the spinny shopping carts.

Trevor did not nap again. The evening was a test of my patience. We have another brand new fill-in nurse working a shift tomorrow. I am not excited. And the summer marches on…

Year 3 – Week 38 – Day 4

These pictures were actually from yesterday. I took the boys to the car wash to try to buy time for Bill to get some things done in the garage. I just had so many pictures yesterday, I didn’t use them.

Brendan initially wasn’t sure what to think about the carwash.

Then he decided he had enough.

Trevor usually likes it

Maybe Brendan’s crying was bothering him!

These pictures are from today. I spent most of the day scrubbing, dusting, and cleaning so I didn’t take much. Trevor decided that he was going to nap in his rocking chair. He slept exactly like this for about an hour and a half!

We are starting to train Brendan to be able to go to sleep in his bed. He plays games and stalls and delays if you are trying to rock him to sleep. He is doing well so far. He knows he isn’t supposed to get up. About 3 minutes after this picture, he was out cold.
