Year 3 – Week 41 – Day 5

Spaghetti night! Brendan couldn’t wait until I finished eating because he likes to play with the sauce with the fork.341b09

Only he was licking it!341b10

Yummy!341b11

He was actually licking sauce off of the bottom of the bowl!341b12

The sleeptime challenges continue with Trevor. He was a terror this morning because he is overtired. I am having a hard time finding ways to help him relax and fall asleep. Once he does, he usually can sleep through the night.

Despite being obviously exhausted, he refused to nap. Then he gets literally punchy and wants to smack and hit everything and everyone in frustration, one of his biggest signs of mega-fatigue.

Tonight’s bedtime should have been easy, but he fought and fought. He told me the ceiling was going to fall on him. (We were recently in a grocery store where part of the ceiling collapsed under heavy rain) He told me that he peed the bed and I needed to change the sheets. (They were clean and dry!) Then he said Brendan barfed on his bed. (not!) He says he needs the light on because his hands are too dark. He finally slapped me one time too many and I walked out. He turned on his lamp and fell asleep like this.341t20

Of course I went in and put him in bed properly.  He will probably really enjoy sleeping in the trailer for the next two weeks where he will share a bed with either me or Bill. Sleep training when we get home will be fun!

2 days until departure!

Year 3 – Week 41 – Day 4

I do not know what is wrong with this boy’s sleeping habits. He just doesn’t want to be in his bed. Right after this picture, I walked in and moved him to bed and he slept for 2hrs though, he was out cold.341t10

He woke up with a ravenous appetite and kept asking to go in the car. He wanted to go to the “Cheeseburger Store”. He was a bit overtired and cranky and I figured why not just drive around a little. As we got in the car, he changed his mind, he really wanted to go to IKEA for meatballs. 341t11

341t12

He was not lying about his tummy growling for meatballs. He didn’t share, he finished all five meatballs, a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy and a cup of 50/50 Sprite with lingenberry juice, aka “pop juice”341t14

When we got home, he was in a better mood. He told me, “The sun went down so outside isn’t an oven anymore!” He wanted to dig in the dirt.341t15

Brendan wanted to swing in the misters. Trevor says, “My daddy can turn on mist for us!”341b07

Trevor didn’t want to come in, he had important digging to do.341t16

At 9:45PM, he is still getting out of bed, moving around, turning on lights and refusing to go to sleep. I know he is so tired! He doesn’t want me to rock him though. 341t17

Year 3 – Week 41 – Day 3

4 days!!!! Packing, prepping, cleaning, arranging, wracking the brain to make sure we have thought of everything…tick tock!

I forgot I had this picture from yesterday morning. This is the first time I have ever been able to convince Trevor to try on the therapy vest. He thought it was funny and he liked what it did to his voice, but he was done with it in about three minutes.
341bt05

Nap time today, it took 45 minutes or so, but he eventually found a place to sleep. This time it is in his wagon, and that is his white noise generator that he has pulled down on to his belly.
341t04

Here’s a close up of the same shot, he turned the noise machine to music.
341t05

Not sure why I decided to work on these today. The last time the boys played in the rain, the top edges of the new rubber boots left really bad chafe burns on the boys’ calves. These flannel sleeves will stop that.
34101

I didn’t realize at all that they could be tested tonight!
341t06

Neither boy wanted an umbrella.

The rain was fast and furious, and then gone. It just left big puddles for splashing.

We were lucky the rain gave us something active to do tonight. The boys still are fighting going to sleep though!
