Year 3 – Week 46 – Day 7

Today was the kind of day that makes parenting feel like some kind of relentless torture. When I thought I couldn’t take another minute, I looked at the clock and there was still 3hrs until bedtime. We survived somehow.
Bill, Trevor and I now all have cold symptoms. Trevor was up several times in the night and I finally gave in and slept in his bed with him from about 3:30am on. My head feels like it might explode with pressure and stress. I am just hoping now that I can get over it before Brendan gets it so that I have the strength to deal with it all. Bill needs to get healthy for his surgery next week.

Brendan seems well so far but it feels unavoidable. He enjoyed a “Mega Stuff” Oreo today.

To try to alleviate the drama tonight, Bill took Trevor for a walk around the block to visit the broken trees from the big flood storm.

This big Eucalyptus is the same kind of tree that we cut down from our backyard years ago because it was waving and creaking and scaring us – for exactly this reason.

Even though Trevor had a good time, Brendan pretty much howled at the door like an abandoned puppy because he didn’t get to go too. I thought he might enjoy some Mommy time alone. Oh well!

Now that the boys are asleep, we can try to prepare for the next meltdown. You never know when it will strike!
