Year 3 – Week 45 – Day 7 – Good bye, Great-Grandma Bobbie

gmmain

It is difficult to accept when a person who has played such an important role in your entire life is gone. In two days, she would have been 93 years old and that is worthy of celebration, but it still feels like her time was cut short.
We are so relieved that we were able to be there so that she could meet Brendan and see Trevor again.
I am never good with words in times like these. We grieve her loss, we love her very much and will never forget her.

We cherish the memories made.

Year 3 – Week 45 – Day 6

Accumulating lack of sleep makes these days harder. I don’t know why but Trevor has been waking up 2-3 times a night pretty regularly now. His lack of good sleep is affecting him too.

Even though his eyes were glassy and he was yawning really big, he simply would not give in and take a nap this afternoon.

We tried the bin full of new toys that we brought home from IL. It kept things happy for about an hour.

345b34

Hammering everything in sight was good for 20 more minutes.
345bt36

Separation is sometimes the only answer.
345bt37

We are sending lots of love and strength to Gramma. Great-Grandma is still holding on, and we are hoping that she feels no pain as her body shuts down. Thinking of them makes our day seem like a piece of cake.

Year 3 – Week 45 – Day 5

Today was IKEA day!

Where else can you get all of this for $2.15? (Kids eat free on Tuesdays)

Brendan impressed us all with his tasting of meatballs, gravy, and fries.
345b21

It is Trevor’s favorite, plus the 1/2 lingonberry juice, 1/2 Sierra Mist drink we call “pop juice” (my favorite too)

Brendan dipped a finger in ranch dressing and licked it. Then he proceeded to make sure that each and every finger on both hands got a thick dip. (did not eat it, bummer!)

Trevor taught Brendan the art of “clinging on”
345bt35

And riding in the basket to spin and go fast
345b26

Only one thing left to do at IKEA. Frozen yogurt!

When it was time to go, I tried to throw away what was left of Brendan’s cone and he had a total fit! He furiously signed “ice cream” and stomped and cried. I tried to take it from his hand just to put him in the car and he did the same thing. He held it until that cone was licked purely clean!
345b30

This evening we put the whole family in the car to run to Walgreens to pick up meds. Brendan got his “replacement Buzz” in the mail today. His Buzz was looking a bit yucky and I found a perfect sealed-in-package new one on ebay. Brendan was thrilled. Two Buzzes!
345b31

He was singing to them
345b32

Nooooooooooo!!! 5:15PM is the worst time to sleep. Too late to nap, too early to dump into bed.
345t15

Sure enough, that 7 minute power nap before dinner revved him up and at 9:15pm he was still playing stalling games about bedtime and tossing and turning. No nap today! He must have been over over tired!

Cute talking today: Brendan walks around saying, “Pa pa pa pa pa!!” and Trevor walks up to him and says, “No! No Brendan! No Pa Pa Pa! I told you no more pretzels!!”

Crazy boys!
