Week 25 – Day 6

Just lots of pictures, not a lot of news today. Brendan was awake today. I held him for a few hours and he gave out a couple of smiles. He seemed more comfortable, his numbers were better, but his color was pretty bad. There was talk about trying him on the home ventilator again tomorrow.

This picture shows off his eyelashes and his fuzzy chin

He likes getting kisses from Mommy

His ventilator tubing kept popping off of his trach, we were both tired of it. It was worth it for the cuddle time though.

Since I took Gramma to the hospital with me again today, Trevor’s whole morning routine was thrown off. He got his prunes later in the day, they must taste different in the afternoon.

Prune mustache!

At least half of the prunes did make it in to his tummy

Week 25 – Day 5

Gramma and I went to visit Brendan today. His numbers on the monitors are probably the best we have ever seen, but Brendan himself didn’t look so great. His head was swollen, his eyes were puffy and tired and he was a little blue. He had enough drugs on board that he was sound asleep, and when he did manage to open his eyes, he couldn’t even look straight and he seemed a bit bewildered.

Hopefully all of this sleep is good for him and his recovery.

He has a lion by the tail

The lion has the same crazy mustache as Brendan!

Trevor had playtime with Daddy all morning. He was getting attacked by a calamari in outer space.

He had a famous 10 minute Trevor nap this afternoon so he went on to the floor for some tummy time

He thinks he should already be able to crawl. He is lifting up really high now, and his little legs kick and kick. Then he gets mad when it doesn’t work.

He is worn out from crawling in place and feeling kind of cranky

Week 25 – Day 4

Brendan enjoyed some tummy time today. It is hard to get him on his tummy, but it is really good for his lungs to turn him over. He did settle down for an hour long nap this way.

He also had a bit of silly time today, but his happy drugs have been turned up.

“You just like my mustache”

Trevor has been such a good sleeper overnight. He wakes up in the morning in a very good mood. He does not cry at all, he lies in bed talking a while. When he is finally ready to get up and have his bottle, he pushes his “call light” and then we hear the music on the baby monitor.

Trevor was a big handful of crab today for Gramma, but he still enjoyed 50 laps up and down the patio.

He is teething so chewing on the rubber top of his vitamins is great fun
