What a huge day!! Brendan was so happy to see us this morning. He can’t talk but he was telling me that he was eager to get out of that hospital!

The most expensive delivery drivers around loading him up, I hope they weren’t expecting a tip! 🙂

Let’s get this thing rolling already!

Everyone was worried about how he would handle the transport. He slept soundly the whole way home! You might even say he slept like a baby.

Trevor was all dressed up and waiting at home with Gramma.

What is this nice soft clean crib, fresh sheets and my favorite monkeys?

And getting to sit in the comfy rocking chair with Mommy too!

Trevor was not used to not being the center of attention. Gramma had to take him for some laps in the stroller while he waited for Brendan to get settled in!

Trevor finally got to come say hello. Brendan really likes his brother.

Before getting ready for bed, the boys got to spend more time together. Whose feet are these? They also video chatted with their aunts for a little while.

What a long day! He is so ready to sleep!

He had about 2hrs of good rest and then his new night nurse arrived. She had tons of questions and worked to get oriented to our home. Things were going well until 9PM medication time. The sheer volume of medication liquid pushed in to his tube caused his ostomy to dump fluid and for some reason, the whole new ostomy base started leaking everywhere. The base they gave me to put on today must have been dried out so it didn’t stick well and the thin stool just got under it. The three of us (me, Bill, and nurse) transported Brendan to the kitchen counter and had to do a full service fix up!
We did a lot of trach cleaning and new ties because his poor skin is broken down on his neck. We did a new ostomy base and bag and cleanup. We put a fresh stripe of tape mustache because it was covered in slime. He was the BEST baby ever, he handled it all so well. We got him all tucked back in to bed and he fell asleep instantly.
With everything happening today, all the excitement, the handling, the people, the noise, the new stuff, and all the hubbub, he has hardly cried a tear.
Just for nostalgia, I decided to post an old picture from the day that Brendan came home the first time (December 19th). I can’t believe how they both got lost in those car seats! Brendan has been in the hospital four solid months now, we are SO SO SO glad to have him home again!!
