Year 2 – Week 12 – Day 1

Tons of pictures today! We started with getting Trevor outside to push his Chomp ‘n’ Clack. The new hoodie was just perfect.

He did a ton of laps back and forth in front of the house. He had to stop for a little rest and watch the cars go by.

We had to stay away from the neighbor’s yard because Trevor was more interested in eating the pebbles and debris than walking.

He still likes the walking

Careful, super cuteness ahead!

I put Trevor in to the jungle for a few minutes while I cleaned up Brendan’s bath stuff. Brendan got mad! He kept shaking his fist at Trevor! So Brendan got to spend some time in his jungle.

He just had a taste for some chameleon

The boys had their 15 month check up today with the pediatrician.

Trevor’s latest stats: 32in long, 18.8in head, 22lbs 10oz
Brendan’s latest stats: 30.5in long, 19.5in head, 24lbs 8oz

24lbs 8oz!!!!!!!! The doctor is really happy with both of them. He loved Brendan’s growth and said his lungs sounded fabulous. He said Trevor has the softest skin out of all the babies he sees. Trevor got 4 shots and Brendan got 6, I feel so bad for them. Their legs are hurting tonight.
Brendan knew what was coming.

Our ABC news team was at the pediatrician’s office today doing a segment about the flu outbreak. They were talking to our doctor so they asked if they could ask us some questions too. They interviewed me about how I protect a kid like Brendan from the flu and what the flu would mean for him. The segment aired tonight at 6pm but they didn’t post the video on their website like they said they would.
I only have these pictures I took of the TV screen while it was playing. If it airs again at 10PM, I will record it!

Brendan looks so cute in pants. He thinks the chomp ‘n’ clack is a good foot rest.

He actually was trying to suction the alligators.

The trip to the doctor was too much, he fell asleep quickly

But the ground isn’t safe from lightning fast Trevor attacks!

Both boys had some Motrin, I expect they might be cranky and sore tomorrow!

Year 2 – Week 11 – Day 7

Brendan is officially halfway through this drug wean, he is doing great so far. Just a few more weeks and we will be able to eliminate several dosing times during the day. We have one more drug to go and then he will just be on maintenance meds like his Prevacid.

I am officially exhausted. Brendan had a perfect night and slept so well. He woke up a few times but picking him up for just a few minutes put him right back to sleep. We had some major nap dysfunction today with both boys so they kept us hopping.Tomorrow we have appointments, PT in the morning, 15-month checkup and shots in the afternoon.

Bill made some popcorn this morning and Brendan thought it was just the coolest thing he had ever seen. He was attacking it, swishing his hands in it, scritching it around, and crunching it with his fingers. Trevor was napping, we would never let him have popcorn, but I had confidence that Brendan wasn’t going to put it in his mouth.
“POPCORN!!!!!”

“Camera ATTACK!!”

Trevor thinks he is such a big boy now when he sits on the couch by himself.

“Camera ATTACK!!”

The boys had a pretty good day, minus the lack of naps!

Year 2 – Week 11 – Day 6

Trevor decided he would take care of all the photography today.

Brendan just is ready to pose

“I am ready for my close-up!”

“Oops, I forgot to take the lens cap off!”

“Oh, Trevor!”

Brendan figured out how to push the button on the big trucks today. And he pushed it. And pushed it..

He also is working on his strength. Yay, Brendan!

Trevor is just working on his toybox dismounts. He climbs in very nicely now, the exit still needs work!

The naughtiness in this video speaks for itself.

Trevor knew exactly what he was going for (digital thermometer) and just how to use it. He sees the nurses use it all the time on Brendan and he cries if they won’t give it to him. Now he just helps himself. (That is a shape sorter toy piece he is eating.)

All cuteness aside, we are possibly going to be without a nurse tonight due to illness. It isn’t worth the risk of Brendan getting ill, it just means that we are going to be super tired.

We also hope that Aunt Erin, Uncle Jules and Caleb recover quickly. It is super hard when the whole family is so sick at the same time. Healing vibes are going out to them, Grandpa Jack, Brendan’s nurse and everyone else who is under the weather.

Oh – one last thing – we received a package of two cute little onesies. It came from a t-shirt shop in Florida but there is no note so we have no idea who to thank! Whoever ordered printed onesies, please step up! We will be taking a picture soon.
