Year 2 – Week 17 – Day 3

Today was a complete 180 from yesterday. Both boys slept nicely through the night and woke up in good moods. Trevor ran some errands with me this morning and then I took him to the park to swing and run around. I must have totally worn him out because he took an almost 3hr nap!

Brendan was in a great mood today and played and did hours of tummy time. He didn’t nap much, but he sure worked hard. He seems to have adjusted to the new fluid/food rate. He definitely needed the extra water.

I don’t know what the difference is between days like today and days like yesterday. I wish I knew the secret! I went to bed last night at 9PM and Bill waited up for the nurse at 11PM. It was nice to go to bed early, I really needed it! I took a nap when the boys went down today too. I have just felt so drained, it is nice to be able to rest.

Brendan sat on the couch and read his book this morning.

Silly boy!

Brendan is safe from the head pats in his pillow fort on the couch! Trevor still comes by for a chat!

Trevor toddles everywhere now. He can easily stand up from the floor without anything to pull up on. (He was dressed most of the day, he just woke up from his nap and got out of jammies)

You have to have sunlight to see the bed-head Trevor has!

The boys still completely wear me out, but it is just a lot better when they do it with smiles.

Year 2 – Week 17 – Day 2

Some days the boys just wear me down. The whining, tantrums, climbing, falling, smacking, spilling, pulling, typing, breaking, blurping, drooling and gagging just chip away at my calm. I try very hard not to snap and yell at them even though I sure do feel like it sometimes.

I didn’t take any good pictures today but I did capture a video that makes me laugh. I don’t know what Trevor says to Brendan, but it is sure hilarious. I think he wanted Brendan to cover for him while he tried to escape under the tool box.

Trevor’s new word is “car”. He uses it right too. He like to go outside and see cars and then makes a car sound. Bill walked him past the neighbor’s house and back while I gave Brendan a bath tonight, so hopefully he is worn out and sleeps well. He tossed and turned so much last night, maybe that is why he was so cranky today!

Year 2 – Week 17 – Day 1

Happy Valentines Day!

All four of us went on a super romantic outing today.. to the GI doctor’s appointment. Brendan was not thrilled to be in the stroller but he handled the whole thing very well. Trevor was all crazy getting tangled up in wires and trying to eat oxygen tubes.

Brendan only weighed 25lbs 3oz on the scale at this office, which is more believable. Still, the doctor said that he is getting too big too fast. They do their best to calculate calorie needs but Brendan is getting a bit too chunky so we are going to scale his feeding back a bit.

Brendan says, “What? I can’t even pinch an inch!”

We told him this means he has to lay off the sugary drinks!

Over the next few weeks, we will be tweaking Brendan’s feeding schedule so that he will actually have four hours a day off of his feeding pump. We are excited for him to be so “unwired”. We also have an order to go back to radiology to have the wonky weird feeding tube replaced with the original low-profile button. It would be a great thing for his mobility, we just have to get brave enough to take him for the procedure.

The appointment was exhausting, Brendan fell asleep in the car on the way home. Trevor ate lunch in the car on the way home!

I tried a couple different stores and I could not find a cute valentines day outfit for boys. It was all frilly pink girl stuff or it was stupid. But the boys got a gift from Brendan’s nurse with superhero stuff!

Trevor wore red with firetrucks but has his cool new batman t-shirt to wear tomorrow. He wouldn’t pose for pictures with his hat.

We cooked dinner at home. We made mushroom & swiss baked chicken. Trevor loved it!
I feel like Brendan after a day with doctor and travelling and mixing up the schedule which means cranky babies in the evening, I need a nap!!
