Year 2 – Week 16 – Day 4

This will be a short short post, I only took a couple of pictures today!

Bill was gone for a good part of the day so the boys kept me very busy. Both of them had big nap fails and were up way too quickly.

Trevor is wearing his lightweight nap jammies. He has been sleeping better in jammies, then he gets dressed when he wakes up.

Brendan went through 4 bibs today and soaked them with drool. I sure wish that tooth would come in, it is ridiculous how slobbery he is lately!

I had one of those moments of panic today wondering about how I am going to handle them as they both get more mobile. Trevor walked 50 laps around the whole house today just holding one hand. He would have a total meltdown if I dared try to guide him back in to the gated living room area.
He is starting to stand up with nothing to pull up on and just take off walking. He does nice controlled bends and turns too.
I just have to remember… one day at a time. We have always found a way to get by.

Year 2 – Week 16 – Day 3

The boys got a lot of Daddy-time today while I worked on finishing up some very old projects. It feels good to close out some things that have been part-done for a couple of years.

Trevor was a little off-season today. (Not Daddy’s doing!) These adorable jammies were the perfect weight and size for the weather today and they won’t fit him when next Halloween comes around. So he was my little pumpkin today. Once it warms up, these will have to go in the cousin-box.

The little pumpkin got a Valentine’s card in the mail today from Gramma! (Trevor loves to go to the mailbox every day)

And now he wants me to take him shopping! (We are going out tomorrow anyway)

Brendan loved his card too. He played with it for a long time.

Then he went back to the book that makes noise!

Eins is on the other side of the window playing peek with Trevor

Definitely time for some child-proof doorknob covers.

Year 2 – Week 16 – Day 2

We had a rough start to the morning. I didn’t want to get out of bed, Brendan was really unhappy, and Trevor was just getting in to everything like crazy while my hands were full!
Brendan actually went back to sleep for about 25 minutes and then woke up the second time feeling better. He played in his pillow fort and did his own thing for a while.

Trevor was just bonkers so I had to put “The Lorax” on again. It makes him relax and then he plays nice with his toys. It is odd. I didn’t want him to just loaf all morning and then not be able to nap later, so I had him scooting back and forth or chomp n clacking the whole movie. It worked, he played nice and then later took a 2.5hr nap!

He likes to push it around as much as ride on it because it is light and he can turn it himself. We have to turn the chomp n clack around for him.

He is parking his scooter in “the garage”

But then he flips it out of his way so he can crawl through his “tunnel”. One of Trevor’s new favorite things is crawling through things, especially under legs.

Brendan was so drooly, he went through 3 outfits and then I finally gave up and he stayed naked. He was a bit clingy today and just wanted someone to hold him.

Trevor thinks he is just the walking pro now and is going to carry buckets around.

Brendan pulled a stunt today that was pretty funny. He was sitting on the ground and he was so determined to try to crawl, he leaned way forward. His legs get stuck so he was trying to get them around to get on his knees. He got his butt in the air and one foot under but he pushed too high. He toppled to the side and the momentum flipped him all the way over to his back. He was startled and MAD!!! But we clapped and say “YAY!!!” because it was a really cool tumble!!

We have started watching “Baby Signing Time” videos to work on teaching the boys sign language. Brendan has been watching some with his nurse for a while, but today we put it on the iPad for Trevor to watch.
With just one viewing, Trevor signed ‘bird’, ‘dog’, and ‘horse’ because he loved seeing all the babies in the video do it and he copied. It was awesome.
The videos are really good with insanely catchy music!
