Year 2 – Week 21 – Day 3

What a headache I have at the end of the day today! The boys and I were alone from dawn ’til dusk today and they really put me through the ringer.

This morning was awesome. We started out with a treat that we had picked up yesterday. It was really hard to find plastic eggs that didn’t squash or crack or fall open if you just looked at them wrong. They are so cheap and flimsy! Once we found sturdy eggs and buckets, we were ready to go!

They love when there is something new!

Brendan stirred his up and made a lot of noise

Bye, eggs

Trevor enjoyed the bucket

Monkey see – Monkey do

Trevor liked stacking the eggs back in the tube they came in.

We had a ton of cute pictures already and it wasn’t even 9am! Getting cute pictures everyday is easy, picking which few to use for the blog is the hard part!

In honor of cousin Kayla’s 12th birthday today, I tried to get Brendan to say “Happy Birthday, Kayla!”. He did in his own way! He is starting to like to figure out how to make sounds. He was doing such cute noises until I got my phone out to take a video and then he just wanted to attack it instead of talk.

Trevor went down for his nap well today and slept just over an hour. Brendan went crazy and played like a silly while Trevor napped and just as I finally got Brendan down to sleep, Trevor woke up. The day all went downhill from there!

Trevor and I played in my room and watched Brendan on camera so he could sleep. I chased Trevor all around, but Brendan only slept about 40 minutes. He woke up crabby!! Trevor saw that Brendan wanted my attention so then he got crabby too. Then it turned in to a 2-baby crying frenzy for most of the afternoon as they jockeyed for my full attention. Getting the babies through dinner and baths was insane. I took Brendan in to the bathroom to watch Trevor take a bath in the big tub and that was a bad idea. He was terrified and didn’t know where he was. In trying to move him, I ended up dumping a whole bag of stinky formula on the play rug. Then Trevor immediately grabbed the nearest stuffed animals and started playing in the big wet area.
While Brendan was getting his bath, I occupied Trevor with Yo Gabba Gabba. I thought he was sitting quietly in the corner watching the show. Then I noticed he had pulled his diaper off again. No big deal, I had to finish trach ties. When I went to get him, I found that he had made a big poop, taken the diaper off and smeared poop all over the floor.
With the way everything was going, it could have been a hilarious slapstick comedy with me as the butt of the joke. Trevor getting caught up in Brendan’s wires and tubes and yanking the food line out of the pump so that the bag busted, getting more formula everywhere, Brendan peeing on the rug in Trevor’s room while I tried to change his diaper, not one minute of rest for me!
Now that the boys are asleep, I am going to go shower and try to wash away the stress!

Year 2 – Week 21 – Day 2

I have a ton of Trevor pictures tonight, but Brendan also had a really awesome day. We played outside for at least 3 hours before it started getting too hot. It got to 95 degrees again today. Fortunately, this heat spell is short and it should be back to nice upper 70’s again for a while. It is way too soon to be summer!

The boys came in sweaty and tired so I let them watch a show while I got lunch ready.

Brendan had speech therapy and cried through the whole thing. Once Bill was done working, Trevor and I ran to the store for some things to do tomorrow while Bill is gone all day.
I am sure this is the face Superman would make if his mom made him go to the store.

It was hot, but I stopped at the park on the way home and let Trevor get some more of his wiggles out.

I caught the moment of impact completely by accident. He was sitting on the ground and tried to stand up. He didn’t quite have his balance when he took his hands off the ground and he went back down on his forehead. He didn’t even cry a bit, but he had a pretty nice road rash. (The ground is that spongey recycled-tires bouncy stuff)

He kept right on cruisin’!

When we got home, Brendan was working on his crawling again! He gets stronger by the minute.

Poor Trevor and his fresh wound

“It’s Shake’N Bake and I helped!”

If only Brendan could learn a thing or two about eating from his brother!

He loves his pork chops!

Year 2 – Week 21 – Day 1

It was a beautiful morning and so as soon as Trevor was done eating breakfast, he wanted the door open so that he could be outside!

Brendan was all over the place too, reaching big for toys and things

You can tell he was rotating around on his butt, he was sitting in a coil of tube!

Sillies

This is a long video, but it is full of cool stuff: some huge accomplishments, a “helpful” brother, a takedown, some tug of war, and some serious cuteness and naughtiness. All the odd sounds are coming from an app on the phone called “Baby Rattle”.

We enjoyed being outside for hours this morning, but it got up to 96 this afternoon!!!!!!!!! I hope this is just an odd week and that it isn’t going to jump straight from winter to summer. We like outside too much to have it get so hot already. I will have to go get a baby pool!
