I should know better than to think that I can do the blog early in the day. There will always be something else in the evening! This is the second post today, so be sure to keep scrolling for the morning cuteness!
Bill was out of the house for a while tonight and so after dinner, I had to get Trevor through the bath. Brendan came in to the bathroom with me just to watch, but he was way too interested in the water!
So I don’t know if it was brave or foolish, but I threw Brendan in the tub too!
He loved all of the new toys he has never seen.
Bill came home just in time to help me with the “getting out” process and setting up Brendan’s stuff. And he got to see the sillies in action.
“Brother in the bath is OK!!” (for tonight anyway)
There is only one thing left for Brendan to do to copy Trevor’s bath routine. Streaking down the hall to get dry.
Now I have to try to get Brendan to GO TO BED!! He fights it so much!
It is a super-early blog day today because I already have enough cuteness for one day. The boys have been going like crazy and now they are taking a nap.
There are huge changes coming up for Brendan. Due to a complete overhaul of the state’s early intervention program, and a change in the way they will approach service like PT, OT, and speech, Brendan is going to lose all three of his current therapists and he will have an all new team. We will meet the new people on Tuesday and have a new therapy schedule.
Brendan’s day nurse, Jen, will be going out on maternity leave in a few weeks, and his night nurse Jennifer has put in her notice to be leaving at the beginning of June. He is going to have an almost entirely new care team. We may be shuffling around some nursing hours too! The magnitude of the changes causes stress, but we are going to try to make the best out of all of this. It is just one more twist in the road on this journey.
We tried to get the most out of outside this morning before it got too hot (which was at 9:30am!). Brendan was working on his climbing.
And just in case you think we are setting up the pictures, here is more evidence that Brendan is a little monkey in the making.
They had a blast knocking down stacks of blocks going around on the carousel.
Brendan helped Trevor with fashion advice
I spent all morning cleaning up puddles. It was the day of leaks I guess, Brendan’s feeding tube leaked first, then the med port opened again, Trevor’s sippy cup leaked everywhere, formula truck tipped and spilled more gross formula, it just was “mommy the mop” all morning. So Brendan lost his soaking wet onesie.

We ordered some commercial grade “random variety” carpet tiles for in the new office and they arrived today. It will be pretty fun flooring in there. We sorted through all the tiles and picked out the ugliest ones that we won’t use. The boys enjoyed helping sort the tiles and then had a blast climbing on the piles.
They had a pretty lengthy conversation too.
And this was all before lunch!! There is a ton of painting still to do in the new room, and then Bill can install the new ceiling fan and start working on the flooring. The goal was too move the desk in next weekend, it will be a tight deadline. With the blog done early, hopefully I can help get things done.
