Year 3 – Week 7 – Day 2

Today was the HopeKids Christmas party. It was a HUGE event and I am happy that we were able to take the boys to experience the madness. I always feel the fear of exposure and wonder if we are doing too much. We have some pretty epic plans for the upcoming week, so I am already nervous about illness.

Right away, the boys got to see some great Christmas characters like Frosty and Rudolph

Oh, and the Stormtrooper

I took Trevor outside to a meet and greet with some firemen

They thought he should drive
307t07

He said “Turn on weeeee-oooh weeee-oooh”
307t08

There was a little train ride

I told Trevor this morning that he could ride a horse and he talked about it all day. He loves the pony rides.

Bill waited in the very long line for food while I kept the boys occupied. Santa gave Brendan this awesome car transporter and Trevor got a stocking full of little toys

“You think this chair is going to keep me here?”
307bt04

Brendan liked this icy can of coke

He did NOT want a pony ride (he just wanted all of the plastic forks, and carried one around for the rest of the party)

307b12

Brendan got to tour the firetruck

Trevor had to get in again because Brendan did

There was a very nice studio set up with a very good Santa, and we had hoped to have a nice family photo. The line was too long and the toddler patience was too short so we missed out. We got our picture taken with the firetruck instead. (And there is the fork again)

Extra-overtired twins. Getting home was mindnumbingly stressfull. They were just so wound up, sleepy, crazy, screaming, and having mega meltdowns over even the slightest thing.
307bt07

It was only 45 degrees, but I took Trevor on a quick bike ride to try to interrupt the downward spiral of tantrum madness. I am so glad it worked.

They were both sound asleep by 8PM which must be a record. But Bill and I are so wiped out from the day!
Thanks HopeKids for such a cool event. Thank you Metro Auto Auction for generously providing the space!

Now we have to hope that none of us picked up a cold. 🙁
