Year 3 – Week 6 – Day 6

I sometimes have to sit and think for a while about all the things I want to remember to blog about. The worst news we got was that the new nurse that spent 1.5hrs talking to us yesterday decided to take a hospital position and bailed on this job. So we are back to square one to find someone new.

This morning seems like so long ago, Trevor and I went on an truck-tastic four mile bike ride.
First we had to go to the mail box and drop off some mail. Trevor is a great helper.

Once we crossed north over the canal, we are in a different city. We noticed everyone had their blue recycle cans on the curb. Trevor was thrilled to see blue cans, and he counted them! (One, tyooo, fee, foh .. that is as far as he goes)
We listened and rode around until we tracked down the truck!
306t27

They are doing huge improvements on the canal, so as we crossed back over, there was the very busy construction site. We saw FIVE cement trucks. (Trevor calls them “munt zzz”)
306t28

The traffic cops on site would not let us stop close enough to take the pictures of the coolest stuff. Trevor liked the cement trucks coming and going, and this little street sweeper helping keep the mess in check.
306t29

On our ride, we also saw a huge Christmas train display, a yellow moving truck, and 3 dogs.

Brendan had PT this morning. They went outside to challenge him on the incline of the driveway. He showed his PT what a pro he was and went all up and down with his popper.

Trevor talked to himself while Brendan worked
306t30

He loves to “read” letters. This time I think he said “Y, R, E, B, C, Y”
306t31

He gives his brother a kiss for doing so well

Freshly mowed lawn is looking so green! But we hear that we might have an overnight freeze this week. The tree will finally shed.
306t32

Look out neighborhood, here comes Brendan!
306b18

He likes his reflection too
306b19

Trevor enjoys the Peanut Butter Creme Oreos that I bought for Brendan’s therapy. He even dunks them in milk.

And finally, here are a few cute spycam shots.

Big stretch
306t37

Uh-oh, lost sock and burp rag
306t38

Trying to fetch them
306t39

Houston, we have a problem
306t40
He got stuck like that and just kept saying “uh-oh, help” until I went in to get him!

Year 3 – Week 6 – Day 5

At the end of another day, I was ready to go to bed at 7pm! We interviewed another nurse today that should work out well for us.
The other nurses are picking up extra shifts to use up the ones we missed, so it should be much smoother going forward.

It’s a Trevor-ful blog again. He was having his favorite Trevor-style lunch today.

I caught this photo of them sharing nicely (and briefly!)

A little foaming soap made bathtime fun

306t24

I have been getting tougher on Brendan about getting his teeth brushed. He tries to hide.
306b15

“Did someone say there was a spider? I got this”
306t25

Brendan asleep at 9PM! Small victories!

Year 3 – Week 6 – Day 4

The pictures today are all full of happy cuteness, but don’t show how long the day can be and how exhausting it is to get through a day sometimes.

Trevor shares his breakfast with his front end loader. They like scrambled eggs.
306t16

306t17

They played with barn animals
306bt05

We passed a lot of time stacking blocks and crashing them with monster trucks

Some stunts don’t work out as planned
306t18

Brendan is always ready to copy whatever he saw Trevor just do.

The battle to get Brendan in bed keeps getting tougher. We are lucky to get him to sleep by 10PM and then there is no night left to unwind. Tomorrow will be another long day.
