Year 3 – Week 47 – Day 4

So far so good with Brendan. He still has minor symptoms, but we hope he can fight off the bug this go ’round.

We sold Brendan’s crib this evening, so he is stuck with his big boy bed now! Good thing he loves it! I just have a little bit of post-bath antics for tonight.

We hope that Gramma is fighting off her bronchial and sinus infection and starting to feel better. She needs all her strength!

I forgot yesterday to add a happy birthday to Uncle Jules. Happy Birthday a day late!
On September 20th, Erin and Jules are walking in the American Diabetes Association’s “Step Out” to honor the memory of a former classmate and friend of theirs that died far too young from complications of diabetes. Support his team and sponsor them if you can, please!

Year 3 – Week 47 – Day 3

Cold symptoms remain mild for Brendan and Trevor seems almost over it now. Bill and I are dealing with fatigue and coughing, but we are managing. The house is a mess and everything is out of order so we have a lot of work to do to prep for next week.
If I failed to mention, Bill is having surgery on Thursday to repair an inguinal hernia. He will be on zero-lifting restriction and be out of commission for boy care for a while.
We are having to start a new nursing schedule this week that will probably have to change several times over the next month. We are also at the end of the fiscal year for our nursing coverage and we are coming up short on hours so we will have to sacrifice some time to balance out. It really is horrible timing.

We were stir crazy and having difficulty entertaining the boys so we all went over to Max & Tammy’s house and picked up some Wii stuff from them that Trevor loved. Brendan got to meet Maverick the Kitty.

Brendan took to the new drum kit quickly. 🙂

Brendan fell out of bed twice last night. Thankfully, he only rolled off the edge and landed on me. We got his guard installed today so that Mary Alyn doesn’t have to sit right next to the bed and play catch.

The boys love having the big boy bed in the living room. Now that it is all finally set up, we have a lot of other things to rearrange to make it work better.

Trevor slept through the night for the first night since before our road trip. I hope we get a repeat of that!

Year 3 – Week 47 – Day 2

We had a rough morning. Brendan definitely has the cold now too, but it hasn’t been bad yet. Small increase in oxygen and a little extra suctioning is all we have had so far. His nose is runny like everyone else’s. Trevor is improving although he slept in my bed from 1:30am on.

We are very appreciative for Bailey bringing us some hot chicken soup for lunch today! That was really a nice boost. The entire family took a nap this afternoon and it made a difference.
I was able to go out shopping to get Brendan some new sheets for his new bed instead of borrowing Trevor’s. So while we were washing the new ones, the boys went jumping again.

I hope everyone is doing much better in the morning, we have a lot to do!
