A VERY large post!

Guess what we have working now? I have a lot of things to update, so you will need to take this post in chunks. Most of it will be video links for the concerts and recitals that have happened. First we’ll start with Halloween. Kayla went as Feferi, a cos-play character. Strange costume, but she liked it!

Ashley was a Hunter of Artemis (Thank you Percy Jackson!).

The next in the line of photos is the “little” snow we got here on a Saturday in November. Ironic that tomorrow is Christmas Eve and it is rainy and 60 degrees!

December came, and with it started concert season! We begin with Kayla’s first orchestra concert at Woodlands Academy. I will just give you the videos and songs. Feel free to watch what you like! She played 9 songs that night!

All is Well

The Dargasson

Highland Holiday

Masters in the Hall

Mozart (this is over 9 minutes!)

Kayla didn’t remember the name for this one.

Wexford Carol

And ended the evening with the Hallelujuah Chorus.

One week later, we had Ashley’s piano recital. She had four songs.
She started with Carol of the Silver Bells.

Then Jingle Bell Rock

She finished her last notes of the song when……..the fire alarm went off! We do have a video of her sitting there while the alarm blared! We also took a picture.

Once the false alarm was silenced, she finished her set.
Ave Maria

And O Holy Night

Some pictures too from that day.

Next up in our busy month was Ashley’s band concert. Just remember, this is a 6th grade band. They sound pretty good for their age….

I don’t know the name of this first one.

All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.

And a Christmas Medley

To finish off our busy week, we then had Ashley’s choir concert (two nights later!).

This first combined choir number is supposed to be the opening song from the movie Frozen. This is fairly painful to listen to, just be warned.

Once the 6th grade chorus was alone, they sounded much better. Ashley is in the middle, wearing a Santa hat and the same dress as her piano recital. Her bangs are pushed up under the hat.

Light a candle.

A Merry Little Christmas.

A noel.

Silent Night/Stille Nacht

Some final pictures. This is Nibbles, right after her brush with death.

This is Nibbles when you give her a nice bowl of salad and she stuffs her cheek pouches!

Last but not least…..this year’s truffle production. I made 555 truffles!

Update

Turns out that the problem with Nibbles was not infection after all! Basically, she had gotten hypoglycemic from her frantic running. She ate her food and being nighttime, we didn’t know she needed more. Nibbles is now restricted to 20 minutes of wheel/ball time per day and a bigger ration of food. Otherwise, she checked out fine at her follow-up visit. She weighed 90g, which was 9 grams smaller than the pasta bridge Kayla built for physics that held 3 pounds of weight in a bucket.

Ashley got her belt test results – 3 stripes! She now has a yellow belt with 3 stripes, so she will color up to blue in the spring at her next test.

Expect to see all of the concert videos sometime after I get out of school for the winter break and have time to mess with the new computer.
