December already!

I wish I could post some photos, but we are still dealing with laptop issues. The new machine is here, but I have not had time to learn how to use it! Kevin has not had time to attempt a file transfer, so at this point we have lost ALL of our photos. We are hoping he will be able to transfer the data even though the account that has them on the old computer has locked us out. The stuff is on the machine, we just can’t get into it. Frustrating.

Anyway, an update on the girls. Kayla is loving school, and things have improved a little now that first quarter is over. She has had to learn in a short span of time all of the tricks that some students learn over grades K-8. How to study, how to manage homework, how and when to get extra help from teachers, all of that. She loves her school, so we keep plugging along. She has her first orchestra concert tomorrow night, which I will record. We’ll see how long it takes for me to get that video posted! She also has a pasta bridge experiment tomorrow in physics. She had to build a bridge out of pasta and glue that met certain specs, and tomorrow it will be tested to see how much weight it holds. Kayla plans to video record the test, so hopefully I can post that also.

Ashley has a busy few weeks coming up! She has her belt test on Sunday for karate, a piano recital next Saturday, then a band and a chorus concert on Tuesday and Thursday of that week before break. I will of course record all that I can and post it once I am able.

This past weekend was truffle making weekend. 555 truffles were made and bagged for delivery to teachers and friends and neighbors. I will make another 70 this coming weekend as a prize for kids at school. Too many truffles!

We will most likely not make a Christmas card this year, especially if I can’t get my photos! We’ll do our best to try and get everyone a recent picture of the family.
