Year 2 – Week 34 – Day 3 – Happy Birthday, Gramma!

We were lucky enough to have Gramma here to celebrate her birthday with us in Arizona again! Two years in a row, Gramma has had to deal with life-changing surprises about new grandbabies brewing. We did no such thing to her this year, it was comparatively a low key day.
Not to say it wasn’t busy! We took so many pictures today, I thought I would be up all night trying to pick which ones to use for the blog!

Trevor was feeling a lot better this morning. He had to start the big day with a cup of coffee.

He got dressed up in his snappiest summer romper and brought Gramma out her birthday present.

He is a good present delivery man

The boys were good opening helpers too

Then they played puzzles

Then they read books

Then they dressed up in silly sunglasses

Nothing spoils a birthday girl like putting her to work! She gave Bill a haircut under Brendan’s close supervision.

While Gramma was busy, the boys finally made her their birthday cards. They take their artwork very seriously!

And then things got a little crazy!

“Who knew washable markers aren’t really all that washable where skin is concerned?” says Trevor as he soaks his fingers

After a trip to Sams Club to buy diapers, we put Gramma to work again on another little haircut.

Trevor was such a good boy and was only a little wiggly. Gramma did an awesome job working on a moving target

Before and After. Not only was it cleaned up, but the back is now neatly layered in a clean cut little boy haircut!

Brendan is the only one of the family now that needs an awesome Gramma haircut!
There were so many cute pictures I had to leave out! We got fish & chips takeout from our favorite Irish pub tonight and followed it up with some key lime pie. It was a crazy day, but we hope that Gramma enjoyed her birthday as much as she could around this place!

Year 2 – Week 34 – Day 2

It is like a cruel merry-go-round this month. Poor little Trevor woke up with a fever, digging in his ear and acting very unhappy.

He just wanted to sit on my lap and cry. They were ok for a while watching youtube videos.

Brendan did pretty well today on his 3L. He needs to keep improving. NO MORE ILLNESS

It was a crazy afternoon. Now that the new office is done, we got another piece of the plan done today. We bought the safe we wanted. Now we have an anti-child place for things that are dangerous, delicate, valuable, or important. Our friend Allen was in from Colorado for a quick visit and stopped to see the boys. He got roped in to helping Bill move a 600lb monster from the truck.

Thank you, Allen!

Spongebob room… that means doctor’s office

Trevor got in to see our regular doctor this time. Being that is was a Friday (ALWAYS), we didn’t waste time and called in to get Trevor seen today.

Temperature check – 103.2 degrees

The doctor thinks the amoxicillin just wasn’t enough to get rid of the infection from last week and he now has a budding ear infection with fluid build up. Now Trevor is on Augmentin and hopefully it will clear up. That explains his mood yesterday!

He thinks he must need suctioning so he turns it on.

Diaper dilemma

A little blast of turbo Brendan, we have been trying to capture his super-fast crawl on video!

There is no night nurse tonight. I sure hope we have done the right thing by moving nursing hours to day shifts. It couldn’t have happened at a more crazy time!

Year 2 – Week 34 – Day 1

There is not much to report today, just more cuteness. We just now turned Brendan to 3L of O2 and so far he is maintaining well, we will see how he does through the night. Recovery is slow going but moving in the right direction.

We tried to play outside today but it got so hot so early.

Brendan just wanted to watch silly youtube videos like kittens meowing

Trevor beat the heat by playing in the sprinkler (first he had to wave at the mailman)

He came in to get cleaned up and I just tried to wash his hands in the sink, he had other plans.

Too big for sink baths

Brendan making silly faces

Stacking/nesting cups are the favorite toy right now, along with the shiny new strings of beads.

Silliness:

It is wonderful to have Gramma here to help, but this week is full of changes and it is exhausting. I hope things settle down for the long hot summer ahead.
