Year 3 – Week 7 – Day 5

Brendan did something cool again today. He usually wants to gnaw on his HME if he is playing with his iGuy. So I substituted a blue cotton candy flavored dum-dum, thinking he would push it away.
He licked, chomped and ate almost the whole thing over a 15 minute period. Only about a pea sized pop was left!
He was a sticky sticky mess and didn’t care! (And his little face smelled like cotton candy all day)

Trevor has taken to floating in the bath, and he likes to gurgle water. He also does this hilarious fold-in-half-splash thing, but I will need to put some swimming trunks on him in order to take a video. 🙂

We were very very busy today getting ready for a huge holiday surprise. It involves going to the airport! 😀 Stay tuned…

Year 3 – Week 7 – Day 4

Monday madness makes me tired. I rely heavily on Yo Gabba Gabba to get me through the tough spots and just try to hang on until nap time. When Bill was off work, I took Trevor on our longest bike ride yet, 4.6 miles to the dollar store and back. I didn’t take any pictures until dinner time.

It was a pretty unexpectedly epic mealtime. Brendan has pulled his trach out several times this week as he tries to pull off his HME. He wants to dissect and chew on them. The good news is, he went about three hours completely off oxygen and was rocking some amazing numbers!

Brendan’s little ducks were swimming in milk in the cupholder

I love how carefully Trevor watches everything that Brendan can do
307bt09

Trevor got to scoop chocolate pudding with his shovel truck
307t35

Brendan was hesitant to touch the pudding, but he drove some cars through it
307b20

Silly!
307b21

Then out of the blue, he started licking big licks of pudding from the side of the cup!

Scraping the bottom for more!

He was really in to the pudding tonight! We are so impressed and amazed at how well he was eating it. EATING IT!!
307b29

Then he was sweeping the milk and pudding together
307b30

Just like he sees his brother do, licking up the good stuff directly from the tray! He was a chocolatey mess!!

Just a quick video that still makes me laugh after watching it 5 times in a row

Year 3 – Week 7 – Day 3

Brendan had a terrible night. His G-tube got caught on the crib at about 4:15am and popped his button out. Bright lights, two people on him, and painful re-insertion of button followed. The good news about this is that we were able to put a new button in that is slightly bigger so it fits him better, and second – we didn’t have to go to the hospital to have it done.

We let Brendan kind of hang out and be lazy today in case he was sore and he needed some rest. He did really well though and even helped Bill mow the back lawn. I took Trevor on a 4 mile bike ride and we happened to end up at a Sonic.
307t21

Trevor got french fries and I had a Cherry Limeade. (Or I thought I had one)
307t22

“This isn’t Coke”
307t23

He likes it. We both love Sonic’s awesome air injected ice cubes soaked in limeade.
307t24

Ready to get back on the road!
307t25

Checking up on the canal project

We also stopped where they are ripping down an old dilapidated ruins of a gas station and getting ready to build a new credit union building. Trevor loved the water tanker in the air.
307t26

And a Cat shovel
307t27

He was thrilled to see Maggie Moo outside.
307t28

Maggie had a little bandage on her paw where she got a little scrape. Trevor was very concerned. Even at bedtime, he kept telling me Maggie Moo had an owie.
307t29

Trevor cooked dinner tonight. He made spuds. He did all the measuring and mixing, just not the hot part.
307t30

He even washed dishes
307t31

His digger truck “dug” his spuds
307t32

Brendan had to move in and clean up after Trevor. He loves to mop.
307b15

307b16

307b17

Trevor is very possessive of the mop though, he did not want Brendan to have it.
307t33

Chocolate chip cookie fixed the problem

Finally, here’s some Trevor-talk!
