Year 3 – Week 26 – Day 1

I don’t know where to start today! Brendan had a terrible night suffering what we believe to be a stomach virus. He started throwing up yesterday evening and had projectile vomiting in bed four times during the night. We switched him to only pedialyte and he is keeping it down. He is also sleeping well right now, so we hope that it was just a 24hr bug and that he will be over it soon! For being sick, he was in a pretty good mood. No fever, still playful and fairly active.

While the boys slept this afternoon, they missed all the action outside. This video is for them to see what they missed. The UPS guy at the end is bringing us our correct Amazon package. The downside to the “Choatic Storage” method is that sometimes you order $300 suspension parts for a truck and you get a box with a $12 bag of wild bird food. No joke – that is what happened! Amazon made it right immediately and sent us the truck parts overnight. The funniest part about all of it is that the bag of bird seed gets really bad reviews!

Then, he helped Bill start the work on the truck (with the right parts!)

Brendan has to come out and see what is going on too

Brendan loves to steal Daddy’s glasses. The problem is they mess up his vision so he walks around clumsily and runs in to things

He is not happy when Bill takes the glasses away!

Sunglasses are not good enough

Ok, maybe they are…eyes still wet with tears

Trevor is happy when he can play GeoTrax without Brendan trying to snatch away his toys

I am hoping that Brendan is able to sleep well tonight. We will have to start putting formula in his belly again in the morning.

Year 3 – Week 25 – Day 7

I love having the gate on the patio. We spent so much time outside today, and I didn’t have to be always jumping to catch an escapee. We did venture out further to watch the circus going on across the street.
325t45

The city workers came to put in a new street lamp today. They brought out the wrong type of lamp though, so there were trucks coming and going.
325bt30

We passed time by blowing dandelions while waiting for the new lamp
325t46

Eventually all the trucks left and one guy was left sitting on a bucket to watch the hole. So we went to say hi. He didn’t speak english.
325t47

5 men, three trucks, and 8 solid hours, and the only thing we have across the street is a big hole with a barricade on it. Maybe tomorrow they will get the lamp in!

There was lots of dirt digging done today.

Mostly, we were just hanging out

The boys have a little game they play. Trevor pretends to not look and Brendan comes up to push him. Trevor runs forward a few steps and the process repeats.

I have watched this several times today, it makes me laugh every time. I have a silly water boy!

It was 93 degrees today, but still cool in the shade this morning. I wish we could “stir” the country and even out the temperatures all over! We don’t want 90’s yet and they don’t need any more snow in the east!

Year 3 – Week 25 – Day 6

My hosting company for this web site has been having network issues all day. I am relieved that it is up long enough right now to get this post in!

We just tried to do cleanup, organizing, and laundry today. Trevor took a really long nap too, so the madness was a little less.

I tried to do a little holiday craft with the boys this afternoon. It seemed to be going really well in the beginning. I had high hopes.

Then Brendan just wanted to sweep the table clear, snatch things from Trevor, and sit on the table. He was not happy when I told him ‘no’. Trevor was crying and yelling “No Bwendinzeeeyah!!” (Brendanzilla is what I call monster B that stomps through and crashes everything, especially geotrax setups)

I think Brendan looks so cute in his pajama pants. I am trying to get a video of his new dance moves, but he has not been cooperative.

I will post more pictures of this project later, I am nervous about the site going down while I am typing!
Bill’s secret steel work has been a gate for our front patio. Years ago when we built the wall and sitting area, we wanted to put up some ornamental ironwork and a gate in the archway. We hoped we would spend cool evenings outside and that the dogs could come out with us.
Now Eins REALLY enjoys being able to come out. The boys can play and I can worry less about them taking off down the driveway. 🙂

Bill did a fabulous job exactly recreating the concept that I sketched for him. We had limitations on design because it had to be safe for toddlers – no climbing opportunities and no openings for heads to get stuck!

We found these little solar lights that will be approx every two feet down the whole wall.
