Year 3 – Week 40 – Day 4

I learned an important lesson about a toddler and alarm clock combination last night. If said alarm clock is activated by a fiddling toddler that is having quiet time in his room, it will alarm at the default time of 12:00am. It will then scare the crap out of said toddler so that he spends the next two hours wide awake and full of adrenaline and fear. *YAWN*

We tried to make it a down day. The boys tried out the hide-a-bed and had their breakfast and tech-time.

Brendan likes to turn the ipad up to full volume and then cover his ears that it is too loud.

Trevor kept bringing me digger trucks and asking to go outside in the dirt, but I kept telling him it was hot like an oven outside. He settled for scooping “shiny rocks”. Brendan enjoyed shaking them in the tin can (also VERY loud)

They shared a “bowl” of chex mix off of the couch. Trevor’s little stick vacuum actually worked really well to clean this up when they were done.

This series of spy-cam shots is from the hour and twenty minutes that it took me to get clean sheets back on Trevor’s bed. They were “helping”.

Trevor skipped his nap, but went to bed at 7:30pm. Brendan is still fighting bedtime at 9:00pm.

The countdown now officially begins……… 10……

In what might be the undeniably craziest thing we have ever done, in ten short days, we will be hooking up Gramma’s house and taking it on the trip that we have been prepping for these last 8 months.

Year 3 – Week 40 – Day 3

Brendan is most definitely one of Gramma’s boys! He’s got the Frozen Coke bug.

Trevor was nice about giving Brendan a sip

He didn’t realize what he was starting!
340bt11

Trevor is signing “more more more”

Brendan is hogging

They were good boys on this morning’s outing.

When we get to the car, I put them both in through the back and tell them to climb into their seats while I load in the groceries. Brendan thought this was his seat.
340b02

This afternoon, I worked on making four of these car seat protectors by cutting up a Chux pad. After the “buy-a-tshirt” blowout from a few weeks ago, it was a necessity!

We are thinking about Great-Grandma every day and we know it is a really hard time right now. Dr. Trevor thinks he needs to come and fix her up. (with his box of Band-Aids)

Paging Dr. Brendan, stat! Assistance is needed!

Brendan’s medical background may be questionable, he seems to want to fix the dog.

Year 3 – Week 40 – Day 2

Just as I was about to start typing this, an emergency alert came up on my cell phone and made my heart jump out of my chest. That noise is so loud and it was just to tell me that another dust storm in on the way. Bill is out in the desert riding tonight, so now I will be waiting up to make sure he gets in safely.

I owe a big thanks to Christine for bringing me dinner and helping out with the boys tonight. They were all fired up and crazy today, in full demolition mode!

I didn’t figure that Trevor would nap this afternoon, so I propped him up in bed with a table and an ipad and told him that he didn’t have to sleep, but that he had to have quiet time so Brendan could rest.
340t04

I was double fooled!! Trevor passed out around 2:30PM and Brendan (who was crazy all morning and should have been tired) slept for only 15 minutes! What do I know?
340t05

This is how we share and play nice. For a short time, one was ordering food at the window and the other was cooking it up. Then I guess they both really wanted to be the customer.

Bill is on his way home now, and the rain has arrived at the house with thunder and lightning. I hope it doesn’t wake up the crazies!
