Year 3 – Week 48 – Day 3

This day was eternal. Brendan was sleeping well until about 2am. That is when he started coughing. He needed suctioning every 15-30 minutes for the rest of the night. I finally picked him up at about 6am and we both slept in the chair for almost an hour. He slept through every suction and woke up seeming to feel better, although still with a drippy nose.

Trevor ended up in bed with Bill at 6am again. He is still not sleeping through the night at all and was coughing on and off.

I was looking forward to a nap with Brendan today. How fair is this?

Nap fail!! Awake and busy all afternoon!

Trevor is going through a phase where he thinks the things on the TV are actual physical objects, especially when we watch older videos of himself. He says, “I want to grab that” when he sees an old toy he wants.

He kept asking for the “cake” in the movie Wall-E. So at the grocery store today, I got him one. Brendan showed interest too.

“I am going to eat this!!!”

“Haha! Just kidding, where is Eins?”

Trevor wasn’t really impressed either.

The only way to get anything done without Bill’s help is to make the boys help. They like to “wash dishes”

Somehow it always turns in to a sink bath.

Because Trevor napped, he would not go to bed. He just fell asleep at 10:30PM. He got up and kept opening him door. So far tonight, he was hot, he was cold, his throat hurt, his tummy hurt, his elbow hurt, his covers were crooked, his fish tank was out of batteries, he wanted to be rocked, he wanted more songs, he wanted medicine, he wanted a drink, he just did not want to go to bed. We had to put him back and bed and close the door 20 times. I am not excited about how many times he will surely be up in the night.

Brendan’s nose dripped all day but he was otherwise well. Trevor only coughs when he is lying flat. Hopefully this all will pass.

Year 3 – Week 48 – Day 2

I knew that I would not be able to handle dealing with the two boys alone all day in the house, and it is so hot and muggy and mosquitoey outside. I took them to Kohls this morning and turned them loose in the toy section. We also got a really great deal on a bunch of winter pants. (We didn’t buy any toys!)

We have still been fighting the last bit of the colds we all had but this afternoon, the cold seems to have made a big comeback with both boys. Trevor has a nasty sounding cough when he is lying down and Brendan’s nose has just been running like a faucet. I expect to hear from both of them in the night.
I am not sure if this is the same bug or a new one, but I am sure ready to be done with it!

Thanks Jonah, Christine, and Johnathon for the extra help tonight!

Year 3 – Week 48 – Day 1

Errands this morning included a trip to the drug store and a stop for a few groceries. The boys are such good helpers. As long as Brendan is happy to be in the cart, it is not too bad to take them somewhere myself.

Trevor recognizes his own name, and found this himself. How could I say no? (He didn’t get to drink it)
347t06

We picked up more pasta for indoor digging time. Brendan was loving this rigatoni.

The boys like to play a new game involving racing big trucks around the house.

Bill’s recovery is going well. He maybe overdid it a little today.

Brendan’s nurse Vanessa worked her last shift tonight. She is on her way to a new life in Ohio. We will miss her and wish her the best!
